BRENHAM VOLLEYBALL EXPANDS “DIG PINK” ACTIVITIES

The Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team is preparing for their annual "Dig Pink Night" festivities, and this year they are expanding it to include the Junior High.

"Dig Pink Night" is the team's annual fundraiser for the Side-Out Foundation with all proceeds going to breast cancer research.

Appearing on last (Monday) night's edition of the Brenham Sportsline, Cubette Head Volleyball Coach Megan Whalen discussed this important night.

The "Dig Pink" festivities will start this Thursday night with the Brenham Junior High School. The 7th and 8th Grade B Teams play A&M Consolidated at 5pm, followed by the 7th and 8th Grade A Teams at 7pm. The games are going to be played at Brenham High School. The Dig Pink Bucket is going to be on-hand. They are also going to be selling "Fight Cancer" T-shirts that were left over from last year at a cost of $2 each.

The Dig Pink Bucket and the T-Shirts will also be out for the High School's home matches against A&M Consolidated this Friday, October 6.

The official "Dig Pink Night" is next Tuesday, October 10, as the Cubettes take on Bryan Rudder. The 9th Grade and Junior Varsity will play at 5pm, while the 9th Grade Flex and the Varsity will play at 6pm.

KWHI is going to broadcast the varsity game live on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.

They are still accepting donations for the Bucket drawing. If you would like to donate, send an e-mail to bhsvolleyball@brenhamk-12.net, or you can call or text Coach Whalen at 979-251-2626.

The Cubettes are also selling "Stronger Than Cancer" T-Shirts for a cost of $20.

They are also encouraging donations of baked goods. Donations can be dropped of next week Monday or Tuesday at the Brenham High School.

Last year, the Brenham Cubette "Dig Pink Night" raised over $5,000 for the Side Out Foundation. This year's goal is to raise over $6,000.
