CUBS LOOKING FOR FIRST DISTRICT WIN VS. MONTGOMERY
After suffering back-to-back losses, the Brenham Cub Football Team is looking to get back on the winning track as they get ready to host Montgomery this (Friday) evening.
Brenham is 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in district. They are coming off last week's 52-28 loss to Richmond Randle.
Montgomery is 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in district. The Bears opened district with a 44-27 loss to Huntsville and nearly pulled off the upset over Lake Creek losing by just one point 36-35 last week.
Montgomery is lead by Junior QB Reggie Williams, who is a dual threat. He is their leading rusher with 74 carries for 536 yards and 7 touchdowns. Williams has also completed 73 of 152 passes for 863 yards, 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
He is helped out by Junior RB Damian Taylor, who has 68 carries for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Senior WR Jake Wilson is their leading pass catcher with 18 receptions for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Brenham Head Coach Danny Youngs talked about the Bears being much better than their record indicates.
