ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE TO BE SEEN IN TEXAS THIS WEEKEND
Two eclipse events are happening in Texas within six months, the first of which is this weekend.
An annular solar eclipse tomorrow (Saturday) will create a “ring of fire” caused by the sun’s shadow around the moon.
Parts of Texas will be in the path of totality, including cities like Midland-Odessa, Kerrville, San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

According to NASA, the annular eclipse will begin in Oregon at 9:13 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time and end in Texas at 12:03 p.m. Central Daylight Time.
The next eclipse event will be a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth. Cities in the path of totality will include San Antonio, Austin, Waco and Tyler.
Anyone planning to watch the eclipse events should protect their eyes with eclipse glasses.
