FOUR WEEKEND CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times over the weekend.

Just before 9:45 a.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a location along North Park Street for a reported crash without entrapment.  Units arrived and found a motorcycle laid over in a parking lot.  No actions were taken.

At 11:15 a.m., the department was dispatched to the 500 block of West Alamo Street for a smoke investigation.  It found a construction crew was sawing concrete, causing dust from behind the house.

Around 5:30 p.m., units went out to the 200 block of Old Navasota Road for a gas leak.  They discovered that the line between the propane tank and the house was leaking and shut the valve on the tank until the line could be repaired.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday, the department was called out to another gas leak, this one in the 700 block of West Wilkins Street.  When units arrived, the property owner advised an odor was coming from the yard.  The department stood by until a gas company came out, marked the area where gas could be leaking from and made plans to perform the repairs.
