TWO CALLS ON TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department received a pair of calls on Tuesday.

Just past 1 p.m., the department went out to the 1600 block of South Jackson Street for a report of illegal burning.  Firefighters arrived to find a homeowner doing burning in the backyard.  Units extinguished the fire and returned to service.

Around 2:45 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Barbee Street for an alarm sounding.  When they arrived, they found a hot pot on the stove and the alarm reset.  They checked the area around the stove before returning to the station.
