FOUR WEEKEND CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department went out to four calls over the weekend.
Around 11:15 a.m. Saturday, the department was dispatched to a home in the 400 block of West Fifth Street for a report of a structure fire. Firefighters found smoke inside the home when they arrived, but they determined it was coming from the AC unit. They turned off the breakers to the unit and used a fan to remove the smoke from the house.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., BFD members responded to a fire alarm at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street. Units made location and found that a resident had pulled the alarm. They assisted in resetting the alarm and returned to service.
At 8:30 a.m. Sunday, the department was called out again to Kruse Village, this time for a gas odor. Firefighters discovered that the odor was caused by a pilot light that had gone out. The department advised the manager to open some windows to get fresh air through the building.
At 10:30 a.m., the Brenham and Meyersville Fire Departments were dispatched to a crash with entrapment in the 9100 block of Highway 105. Brenham and Meyersville units assisted with the patient and helped control traffic.
