FOUR CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. ON TUESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department had four calls on Tuesday.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the department was dispatched to South Blue Bell Road and East Alamo Street for a report of a transportation incident. Units arrived on location to find a three-vehicle accident with fluids leaking. They used dry absorbent on the spill and returned to service.
Around 1 p.m., firefighters went out to the 900 block of Farm Path for an alarm sounding. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building when the department made it to the scene. BFD members replaced all batteries in the smoke detectors and returned to the station.
Just past 2:30 p.m., the department received a report of a gas smell inside a home in the 400 block of West Valverde Street. The City of Brenham Gas Department was on location when the department arrived. Nothing was found on the gas meter, but they did find a bad detector.
Just after 9 p.m., units were dispatched to assist the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department with a grass fire on Malinowski Lane in Chappell Hill. Chappell Hill firefighters made it to the scene and found a small grass fire before cancelling Brenham units.
