TWO BRENHAM CUBETTES MAKE BLINN SIGNING OFFICIAL
The Brenham Cubette Softball Team held the official "Signing Day" on Wednesday for two of their players, who are taking their skills to the next level.
Halle Scheel and Annie Beckendorf both verbally committed to Blinn College to join the Buccaneer Softball Team back in August, and on November 1, 2023, they put pen to paper.
Both young ladies have been starting for the Cubettes for the past three seasons, and are getting ready for their senior season, which starts in February.
Scheel has played all three outfield positions during her time with the varsity. Over the last two seasons, she has also joined with Avery Maurer to give the Cubettes one of the best 1-2 hitter combinations.
Last season, Scheel was a Second Team All District selection, and a Second Team All Brazos Valley selection.
After splitting time at catcher and third base during her first two years, Beckendorf settle into the everyday third base role, and also provided extra base power in the middle of the Cubette batting order.
She was also an Honorable Mention All District selection season.
Last year, Beckendorf and Scheel also helped the Cubettes achieve a rare feat, the entire team being named Academic All District.
They will join the Buccaneers for the 2024-2025 season.
