FIVE WEEKEND CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to several gas calls over the weekend.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the department was dispatched for a gas odor at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street.  Firefighters found gas readings in the kitchen area and waited for the City of Brenham Gas Department to make location before turning the scene over to them.

At 4:45 p.m., Brenham units were called out along with the Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department for a crash with entrapment in the 4000 block of Highway 105.  However, they were cancelled en route to the call by the Meyersville command staff on the scene.

Just after 5:30 p.m., BFD members went out to a home in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway for a gas odor.  They found a leak at the meter going into the house and waited for the city gas department to arrive before clearing the scene.

At 12:45 a.m. Sunday, the department responded to a gas odor call in the 1000 block of Green Street.  Firefighters found the leak by the street and showed the city gas department where the leak was coming from before returning to service. 

Just before noon, units responded to Highway 290 West and Old Mill Creek Road for a transportation incident.  They arrived to find a single vehicle pulling a travel trailer, with the trailer on its side.  BFD members checked the propane bottles on the trailer and found them to still be closed.  They cleared the scene once the truck and trailer were removed from the roadway.
