BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO FOUR CALL

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls from yesterday (Wednesday) morning into earlier this (Thursday) morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to 4001 Highway 36 South shortly after 7am Wednesday morning. The call turned out to be a false alarm, and so BFD returned to service.

The next call came in shortly after 12 noon. Brenham Firefighters were dispatched to a report for a gas odor at 807 West Third Street. BFD stood by until the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived on location. They were then released and returned to service.

At 1:20pm, firefighters were sent to the intersection of West Blue Bell Road and Highway 36 North where there was a traffic crash with fluids leaking.  BFD cleared the fluids and removed the debris from roadway.

The final call came in this (Thursday morning) at 12:45am for a gas odor at 107 West Bryan Street.  Firefighters found the leak at the gas meter.  BFD waited on scene until the gas department made location.  Once they did, they showed them where it was coming from, cleared the scene, and returned to service.
