POLKA LOVERS MUSEUM HAVING CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSES
The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum is hosting a pair of upcoming Christmas Open Houses in conjunction with the Texas Czech Heritage Cultural Center.
The Open Houses will be on Saturday, December 2, and Saturday, December 9, from 10am-3pm at the Museum, which is located at 275 West Fairgrounds Road in La Grange.
The first event on December 2 will feature a performance from Burton native Gene Hackemack, which is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.
Hackemack and his singing partner at the time, Jason Keepers, received a plaque from NASA in July 1995 after waking up the Space Shuttle Crew by singing “The Beer Barrel Polka.”
The second event on December 9 will be a book signing of “The Texas Toad” by author Lawrence Rominger of Pearland.
Refreshments are being served on both days.
The Museum is also accepting toys, non-perishable food items, and/or monetary donations for the AMEN Food Pantry and the Fayette County Deputy Santa Program.
