SIX PEOPLE ARRESTED FRIDAY

Six people were arrested is separate incidences by Brenham Police Friday.

The report that early Friday morning at 1:40, Sergeant Ashley Burns conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed the Driver, Jose Ernesto Diaz Duran, 25 of Brenham, was operating a motor vehicle during a period his driver’s license was under suspension. Duran was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Then early Friday morning at 3:55, Officers were dispatched to a Suspicious Person call in the 2500 Block of South Day Street. Officers arrived on scene and while conducting the investigation the suspect Travail Cloud, 37 of Brenham, struck an Officer causing pain. Cloud was placed into custody and resisted arrest. He was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Assault on a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest Search or Transport.

Then Friday morning at 9:55, Officer Eric Crosby conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violation in the area of West Lubbock and South Lubbock. Investigation revealed Dylan Weston Kennemur, 30 of Dallas, was operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license. Kennemur was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While license invalid.

Then Friday evening at 5:00, Cpl. Tommy Kurie initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2200 block of Highway 290 East for speeding. A strong odor of marijuana was detected upon contact with the driver and marijuana was observed in plain view on center console. More marijuana was voluntarily handed over to an officer prior to a probable cause search of the vehicle. More marijuana and a metal grinder were found during the search.  The driver, Jamall Collins, 25 of Austin, claimed ownership of the marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Then Friday evening at 6:05, Officers were dispatched to a business located in the 200 Highway 290 West in reference to a shoplifting call. An investigation was conducted, and revealed Jesus Alejandro Garcia-Ramirez, 20 of Somerville, walked past the point of sale with unpaid items. Jesus was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked for Theft of Property between $100 and $750.

Then Friday evening at 7:05, Officer Garrett Downs conducted a traffic stop at the 700 block of South Jackson. The driver, Allan Michael Gilmon, 35 of Brenham, was discovered to have an active warrant for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. Gilmon was transported to the Washington County Jail and booked in on his active warrant.
