FOUR CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. MONDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 3 p.m., the department was called out to a crash at Highway 36 South and Highway 290.  Units arrived and found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.  The department provided traffic control and checked the vehicles that were involved before clearing the scene.

Just before 4 p.m., firefighters and the city gas department were dispatched to a home in the 900 block of East Stone Street for a gas odor.  The fire department checked the area for a leak or smell and, after investigation, was released from the scene by the gas department.

Around 5:30 p.m., units responded to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street for a fire alarm.  They arrived and found a resident had burnt toast.  The department checked to make sure everything was ok before returning to service.

At 5:45 p.m., both the Brenham Fire Department and Latium Volunteer Fire Department were called out for a rescue in the 6300 block of Dogwood Road, but Brenham units were cancelled before making location.
