BLINN-TEEX FORENSIC SCIENCE ACADEMY PROGRAM HOSTING INFORMATION SESSIONS

The Blinn College District will host two information sessions for students interested in a career in the forensic sciences.

The online information sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, and Thursday, Dec. 14, on Zoom.

Through a partnership between Blinn and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, students can enroll in the TEEX Forensic Science Academy to receive high-quality forensic technical training in preparation for employment in the industry. Students are eligible to earn 18 college credit hours and their Blinn College Forensic Science Certificate in addition to TEEX’s Forensic Investigation & Evidence Management Certificate.

Students who co-enroll at Blinn and TEEX earn college credits that can be applied toward degrees beyond the certificate level.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, forensic science technicians earn a median salary of $63,740 per year and demand is expected to grow 13% between 2022 and 2032.
