WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO ACT ON NO THRU TRUCK SIGNS ON SACRED HEART ROAD

Washington County Commissioners will hold a public hearing and vote on Tuesday regarding a proposal for no thru truck signs to be placed on a Precinct 4 road.

The no thru truck signs are being requested for Sacred Heart Road, from its intersection with FM 389 to where it meets Sawmill Road.

The item is a follow-up from previous no thru truck signs that were approved on Rolling Creek Road in Precinct 4 during the court’s meeting on October 10th.  At that meeting, County Engineer Wesley Stolz said the goal is to get oil and gas traffic back onto the proper route of Wolff Road, and that putting in the signs on Rolling Creek Road and Sacred Heart Road should help to accomplish that.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners will look to authorize the county auditor to seek sealed bids for outside financial audit services.  Bids would be due by January 10th at 10 a.m. and would be accepted on January 16th at 9 a.m.

In addition, the court will act on a renewal contract for participation in the rotation log for towing services for abandoned, impounded, junked and disabled vehicles.  The contract is with towing companies in Washington County for individuals in non-consent tow situations.

There will also be a donation presentation by the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce to the Washington County EMS Department.

In other business, commissioners will:

  • Act on the placement of Orchard Oaks Lane (0.3968 miles) in the Orchard Oaks subdivision in Precinct 3 into the one-year maintenance period and reducing the bond to 50 percent.
  • Potentially move the commissioners court meeting scheduled on Tuesday, December 26th to Wednesday, December 27th due to the Christmas holiday.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
