BRENHAM CUBS GO 4-0 AT MIKE DACUS CLASSIC

The Brenham Cub Basketball Team continued their successful early season run with a 59-33 win over Baytown Lee on Saturday at the Mike Dacus Classic in Navasota.

The Cubs jumped out on them early and often.

Brenham outscored Lee 18-7 in the first quarter, and 24-9 in the second quarter to take a 42-16 lead into the locker room at half time.

Lee won the third quarter 11-7, which cut the lead to 49-27.

In the fourth quarter, the Cubs came back to outscore Lee 10-6 to will the game 59-33.

Elijah Ferguson led the way with 18 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Issac Powell had 11 points and five assists. JaKobe Mathis chipped in 11 points, and six rebounds.

With the win, Brenham improves to 13-1 on the season.

Next up, they will go back to Navasota for a non-district game with the Rattlers tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7pm. This game is their final tune-up before district starts on Friday.
