NATIONAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA DAY AT PRAIRIE LEA CEMETERY
The Anchor Club of Brenham is inviting the public to Prairie Lea Cemetery for National Wreaths Across America Day this coming Saturday.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at noon at the cemetery’s flagpole.
Prairie Lea Cemetery is an official Wreaths Across America location. They will be joining with more than 3,700 other locations across the country for the event.
The Wreaths Across America ceremony is coordinated and led by volunteers and sponsorship groups that have raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of 300 veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members that are laid to rest there.
Wreaths Across America is a non-profit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony that a Maine businessman began at Arlington National Cemetery in 1992.
Their annual mission, “Remember, Honor, Teach…” is to ensure that the memory of those who served our country endures.
