ONE CALL FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. THURSDAY

  

Issues with an oven led to a response by the Brenham Fire Department Thursday afternoon.

Around 5:30 p.m., the department was called out to a home in the 300 block of Riggs Street for a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found all occupants outside of the house.  Units made entry and found the oven had malfunctioned, causing it to overheat and produce smoke.

BFD members unplugged the oven and removed the smoke from the house.  The oven was left unplugged, and the department advised the homeowner of the situation before clearing the scene.
