CUBS SPLIT WHILE CUBETTES FALL IN SOCCER TOURNAMENT PLAY

The Brenham Cub Soccer Team split their first two matches yesterday (Thursday) on opening day of the Madisonville Tournament.  The Cubs lost to Round Rock West Wood in the opener 2-1.  Isaac Garcia scored the Cubs’ goal off of an assist from Brandon Schultz.

Then, in their second match of the day, the Cubs beat Rice Consolidated 7-1.  Chris Calix and Isaac Garcia had two goals each. Chris Delgadillo, Abdias Cisneros, and Bleu Cienega had one goal each.

Brenham (1-1-1) will take on Livingston later today (Friday).  A win put them in the semifinals, while a loss puts them in the third-place game.

Meanwhile, the Brenham Cubette Soccer Team dropped a heartbreaker 2-0 to Victoria East on opening day of the Blue Bell Shootout.

This was also their first match of the regular season.

Brenham (0-1) is back in action tonight (Friday) against Corpus Christi Miller at 7:30pm at Cub Stadium.

Both tournaments run through tomorrow (Saturday).
