FATAL WALLER TRAFFIC CRASH ENDS WITH AN ARREST

  

A woman has been arrested in connecting with a deadly car crash that occurred on Friday night in Waller.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the driver, 51-year-old Shelley Buttram, was driving a Mazda Miata on Hempstead Road between Kermier Road and Kickapoo Road.

She tried make an unsafe left turn causing an approaching car to crash into her. Gonzalez said that they were unsure if she was making a U-turn, or turning into a private driveway.

Investigators also say that she was driving without her headlights on. 

Buttram’s 85-year-old father, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died on his way to the hospital.

After suspecting that she was under the influence of alcohol, Deputies placed Buttram under arrest for intoxication manslaughter. 

Bond was set at $50,000.
