BRENHAM CUBS GET ROAD WIN OVER MAGNOLIA WEST

The Brenham Cub Basketball Team picked up a road win over the Magnolia West Mustangs 66-57 last (Tuesday) night.

Brenham jumped out to an early 16-13 lead after the first quarter. They also outscored the Mustangs 17-10 in the second quarter to take a 33-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Cubs also won the third quarter 16-11 to extend it to a 49-34 advantage. Magnolia West outscored Brenham 23-17 in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit.

Elijah Ferguson led the way with 20 points. JaKobe Mathis had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Powell finished with 12 points. Jmauri Kelly chipped in 10 points.

With the win, the Cubs are now 20-3 on the season and 3-1 in district.

Brenham returns home this Friday to face College Station. The opening tipoff is scheduled for 6:30pm. KWHI will broadcast the game live beginning with the pregame at 6:15pm.
