WASHINGTON CO. GO TEXAN BBQ COOK-OFF THIS WEEKEND

  

The annual Washington County Go Texan cook-off is all set for this weekend.

Activities for the fundraiser kick off tomorrow (Friday) night and continue through Saturday evening at the La Bahia Hall in Burton on Highway 237.

Tomorrow’s events include judging for margaritas at 6:30 p.m. and the steak shoot-out at 7:30 p.m.  Awards will be presented at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday begins at 10 a.m. with judging for bloody marys.  There will then be judging for beans at 11 a.m., chili at noon, chicken at 1 p.m., ribs at 2:30 p.m. and brisket at 4 p.m. 

Final awards will be given out at 5:30 p.m., which is when the live auction will begin.  There will also be a drawing.

Guests can bring their own coolers, as the event is BYOB.

Proceeds go to the Washington County Go Texan youth scholarship fund.
