NAVASOTA TEEN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

A Navasota teenager was arrested late last (Monday) night after he took a firearm into a local business.

Around 11pm, Navasota Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 Block of West Washington Avenue for a report of a possible robbery with shots fired.

Officers quickly arrived on the scene, and were approached outside the building by an employee of the business, and a customer.

They were told that there was a male suspect inside the building with firearm.

Police entered the business and took 17-year-old Juan Luis Olivares into custody.

An investigation revealed that the firearm that Olivares had in his possession was reported stolen out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

They also said that there were several broken doors and merchandise that was thrown around the business, which caused several thousands of dollars in damage.

Olivares was booked into the Grimes County Jail on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and one count each of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Criminal Mischief more than $2,500, but less than $30,000.

Police said that neither the employee, or any of the customers were harmed during the incident.
