FAYETTE COUNTY AUTHORITIES MAKE WATER RESCUE

Fayette County emergency workers had to make a water rescue earlier this (Wednesday) afternoon after a capsized boat left one person in a dangerous situation.

According to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, authorities received a 9-1-1 call at 1:50pm that a subject had capsized a boat on Cummins Creek in the Fayetteville area.

The person was reportedly clinging to a tree, while being swept by the water.

The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, Texas DPS, and Game Warden Shaun Bayless arrived to assist at the scene.

Firefighters along with Bayless used a boat to rescue the person from danger.

With the large amount of rain received so far this week, Sheriff Korenek is encouraging motorists to stay home and indoors.

Do not get out in this weather unless you just have to.
