RAILROAD CROSSINGS IN DOWNTOWN NAVASOTA TO UNDERGO REPAIRS STARTING THURSDAY
Union Pacific will perform repairs at several railroad crossings in the downtown Navasota area starting tomorrow (Thursday).
Each crossing will only be closed for a partial day, between 4 and 11 a.m., and will reopen in the afternoon.
The first closure will be tomorrow at the crossing at Railroad Street and Blackshear Street, behind Brookshire Brothers.
On Friday, the crossing at Railroad Street and McAlpine Street will be closed.
The final closure will be on Saturday at the crossing at Railroad Street and Holland Street.
Union Pacific will have several detours marked, but there may be an increase in 18-wheeler traffic through the area with the temporary blockage of the truck route. The public is advised to watch for detour signs or avoid the crossings.
