The 24th-ranked Blinn College women's basketball team coasted past Coastal Bend 77-41 in Region XIV play Wednesday in Beeville, Texas.

The Buccaneers (13-5, 4-1 Region XIV) received another strong effort from their reliable defense and backed that performance up with a stellar offensive showing.

Three players scored at least 12 points for Blinn, while three others were within two points or less of reaching double figures.

"It was a really good team road win for us," Bucs head coach Jeff Jenkins said. "All 11 of our players got good playing time tonight and played extremely hard for us."

Sophomore forward Jasmyn Jackson paced Blinn with 14 points followed by a pair of 12-point outings for freshman guards Wynter Jones and Elizabeth Walton. Freshman guard Jonesha Neal and freshman forward Tocarra Johnson added nine points apiece, and freshman guard Nala Richardson tallied eight.

The Bucs controlled the matchup from the outset as they built a 15-9 lead by the end of the first period. That cushion swelled to 36-23 by halftime and grew to a 56-33 advantage after three quarters of play.

Blinn gets back to work with a region road trip to Panola College at 2 p.m. on Saturday, in Carthage, Texas.
