BHS CHOIR IS GOING TO STATE

The Brenham High School Choir punched their ticket to State after a superior performance at the recent UIL Region 27 Solo and Ensemble Festival in Cypress.

19 students earned a “Superior” rating from the festival judges, and will now advance to the State UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition.

The BHS choir students were Madelyn Alexander, Beatrice Bello, Adrien Castillo, Savannah Chalmers, Chris Diaz, Sophia DuBowik, Yahir Figuera, Sophia Hedgecough, Jackie Ibarra, Hank Kopech, Peighton Lawson, Ashton Lofton, Kimbrea Massenburg, Michaela Millard, Jerry Pham, Elizabeth Shelton, Addison Smith, Dylan Taylor, and LaMya Williams.

The choir is under the direction of Amanda Seymour.

According to Brenham ISD, the music that the students prepared for the competition is incredibly difficult, and required a great deal of hard work and dedication.

Many of the songs were in other languages and required extensive preparation and study to earn a superior score.

The State UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition will be held in May .
