CUBETTES FALL TO MONTGOMERY 39-32

The Montgomery Lady Bears clinched a playoff spot last (Tuesday) night as they defeated the Brenham Cubettes 39-32 at the Brenham High School Gym.

Carmen McWilliams led the Cubettes with 14 points, while Halle Scheel added eight points.

The loss drops Brenham to 17-17 overall and 5-7 in district.

In other action, Lake Creek beat Magnolia 52-35, and Magnolia West survived a scare to beat College Station 57-55.  With those wins, Lake Creek and Magnolia West have also clinched playoff spots.  Meanwhile, A&M Consolidated upset Rudder 56-49.

So going into the final two games of the season, Magnolia has a one game lead over Brenham and Rudder for the final playoff spot. The Cubettes will be traveling to Magnolia West on Friday night for a 6:30pm game.
