The B-FAMOUS program, standing for Blinn Football Athletes Mentoring Others for Ultimate Success, allows student-athletes to serve as one-on-one mentors and tutors for children in Faith Mission’s SMART-CARE Kids program.  The program was established in the spring of 2022 with the head coaches for Blinn’s football team, women’s basketball team and women’s soccer team.

Matthew Bess, a business finance major who plays on the Buccaneer football team, says this has been a powerful and eye-opening experience for him.

Alex Morehead, a business administration major who is also on the football team, hopes that he can provide these children with wisdom and knowledge.

Blinn Head Football Coach Ryan Mahon says it is awesome to see the young men at Blinn develop their servant hearts and leadership abilities as they serve others and make a meaningful impact on the lives of other young people.

Blinn Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jeff Jenkins says the community has done so much for them and is glad they are able to give back in some way.  Blinn Head Women’s Soccer Coach Alexandra Jackson said the program fosters empathy, patience and a sense of purpose.

The Faith Mission SMART-CARE Kids program is a partnership with Brenham ISD and Brenham GameChangers.  It is held Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on the Faith Mission campus for pre-school to junior high school students.
