SPRING MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH SPEED CHASE

  

A high-speed chase that started in Navasota came to an end in College Station with an arrest.

Around midnight on Monday, a Navasota Police Officer observed a motorcycle traveling northbound on Highway 6 at a high rate of speed.

Upon entering the highway, the officer also noticed that the motorcycle did not have a working taillight.

When police tried to make a traffic stop, the motorcycle driver accelerated to speeds reaching over 120 mph.

Deputies from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office joined in the pursuit as well.

As the chase entered the College Station city limits, both law enforcement units terminated their pursuits.

They notified the College Station Police Department, who staged themselves along the highway.

According to reports, the motorcycle exited the highway and attempted to hide in a business parking lot.

CSPD officers made contact with the driver, 20-year-old Denham Roberts-Howden of Spring, and detained him until Navasota Police arrived.

Roberts-Howden was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and booked into the Grimes County Jail.

During a further investigation, the motorcycle was found to have a fictitious license plate, no insurance, expired registration, and no motorcycle license.

CSPD issued citations to Roberts-Howden for those violations.
