WALLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEEKING INFORMATION ON SHOOTING

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help as they continue to investigate an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon case that occurred back on November 5, 2023.

Shortly after 10pm that evening, deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired at 35028 Cameron Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found four adult females, two adult males, and one juvenile male had been shot.

The victims were attending a trail ride pasture party that was being held in conjunction with a Prairie View A&M Homecoming party.

According to a press release from Sheriff Troy Guidry, all of the gunshot wounds were to the lower extremities of the victims, and none of them were known to be life threatening.

It is believed that an unknown number of people became involved in a verbal dispute, and that a firearm was discharged several times striking the seven by-standers.

The release went on to say that there were over 1,000 people at the event with security being provided by Waller County Precinct Three Constables and an unknown private security agency.

An investigation determined that none of the security protocols established by the permitting body and party promoter were followed.

Anyone with any information regarding this shooting incident is asked to contact the Waller County Sheriff’s Office at 979-826-8282, or the Waller County Crime Stoppers at 979-826-8266.
