BRENHAM MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND

A Brenham man faces a charge of Assault of a Pregnant Person.
The Brenham Police Department reports that it met in the department lobby on Monday with a victim who stated she was assaulted by her current boyfriend. Police say the victim sustained visible bodily injuries from being struck multiple times with a closed fist and belt.
Police issued a warrant for Assault of a Pregnant Person, a third degree felony, due to the victim being pregnant at the time of the reported assault.
Just past 6 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Lott Lane to serve the warrant.
21-year-old Cristian Yovani Sanchez-Cuevas was located and placed under arrest for the warrant and taken to the Washington County Jail.
No man would lay hands on a woman, especially a pregnant woman. Absolutely disgusting. He belongs in jail, he should be ashamed of himself.
