BRENHAM PLANNING & ZONING MEETING CANCELLED AFTER ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT REQUESTS PULLED
The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting scheduled for Monday ended up being cancelled, after the two items that were supposed to be heard were pulled from consideration.
City of Brenham Development Services Director Stephanie Doland said both cases were withdrawn by the applicant, Dara Childs.
The items were specific use permit requests to put in accessory dwelling units on single-family residential properties in the 900 block of West Jefferson Street and the 300 block of Hampshire Drive.
The agenda packet for the meeting noted concerns from city staff about the requested developments potentially contradicting the existing neighborhood culture of the two locations. The packet also stated that the city received several calls in opposition to the proposals.
