A&M CONSOLIDATED DEFEATS CUBETTES 12-1

It was a rough night at the ballpark for the Brenham Cubette Softball Team as they fell to A&M Consolidated 12-1 at Alumni Field.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a sac fly by Peyton Valentine and an RBI double by Savannah Coleman.

In the third inning, A&M Consolidated added two more runs on a solo homer by Valentine, and a sac fly by pitcher Raegan Johnson to make it 4-0.

Brenham finally got on the board in the bottom of the third inning. Nevaeh Holmes drew a walk, and stole second. Halle Scheel grounded back to the pitcher, but Johnson overthrew first base, which allowed Holmes to score and cut the lead to 4-1.

The Lady Tigers would score three more runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to increase the lead to 12-1.

Johnson had a no-hitter going, until one out in the bottom of the fifth, when Holmes broke through with a single. That would be Brenham's only hit of the game.

The Cubettes drop to 0-2 in district. They will travel to Rudder for their next game on Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm. (6:05pm pregame on KWHI)
