GAS PRICES UP FOR SPRING BREAK
Drivers hitting the road for Spring Break will have to contend with higher prices at the pump.
The statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.93, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. While that price is the same as it was a week ago, it is 13 cents more expensive than a month ago. However, it is also 13 cents cheaper than this time last year.
In Brenham, the average price of gas sits at $2.90, with a low of $2.68 and a high of $3.26.
Examining prices in the state’s metropolitan areas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $3.19 per gallon, while drivers in San Antonio are spending the least at $2.84.
Across the country, the national average price per gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.39, up 6 cents from last week and up 23 cents from last month. The price is still 7 cents less than at this point a year ago.
