LADY PANTHERS COME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT SNOOK 4-2
The Burton Lady Panthers rallied to defeat the Snook Blue Jays on Tuesday 4-2 in District 26-2A action.
Snook jumped out with an early run in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The lead didn't last long as Burton's Amaya Williams hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning to tie it 1-1.
The Lady Jays would take a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the third.
That lead lasted until the bottom of the fourth when the Lady Panthers put two runs on the board. Kalli Pohl reached on a bunt single, and took second on an error by the third baseman. Amaya Williams followed with a single, and then on an error by the leftfielder, Pohl scored. Williams later came around to score on an RBI single by Bailey Glaesmann to put Burton in front 3-2.
Burton added one more insurance run in the bottom of the fifth. Reagan Roemer reached on a one-out triple, and then scored on a bases loaded walk to Aerynn Huntsman to put the Lady Panthers in front 4-2.
Bailey Glaesmann got the win after she went all seven innings scattering seven hits, allowed two runs, only one of which was earned, didn't walk anyone, and struck out 15.
