PANTHERS SWEEP RTC WITH A 15-0 WIN

The Burton Panther Baseball Team swept the season series with the Round Top-Carmine Cubs with a 15-0 win at home on Tuesday night. The game was called after just three innings.

Burton got the scoring started with three runs in the bottom of the first. Tyler Witt drew a walk, went to second on a wild pitch, stole third, and then scored on a wild pitch to make it 1-0. Braydon Martin, Colby Beck, and Bryson Biggs drew back-to-back-to-back walks to load the bases. Reuben Rodriguez singled home Martin to make it 2-0. Beck scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 3-0 Panthers.

The bottom of the second inning started with Eli Jaeger drawing a walk, and then Witt and Logun Tosta both got hit-by-pitches to load the bases. Colby Beck then cleared the bases with a three-run triple to put Burton up 6-0. Beck then scored for the second time on a wild pitch. Rodriguez followed with a double, and came home on an RBI single by Ryder Biggs to give the Panthers an 8-0 lead.

Burton would finish the game off with seven runs in the bottom of the third inning. Jaeger walked, stole second, stole third, and then scored on an error. Tosta reached on an error, stole second, and took third on a wild pitch. Martin drew a walk. Beck then hit his second triple of the game to score Tosta and Martin to increase the Panther lead to 11-0.

Bryson Biggs doubled home Beck, and then Rodriguez singled home Bryson. Ryder Biggs walked. Weston Els singled in Rodriguez. Ryder then scored on a wild pitch to finish the game at 15-0.

Witt got the win pitching a three-inning no-hitter, walking only one, and striking out five.

Next up, the Panthers (10-4) will be back in action on Tuesday, March 19, at Richards beginning at 6:30pm.
