UNITY THEATRE OPENS REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER DRAMA CAMPS

Children are invited to take part in Unity Theatre’s Summer Drama Camps.

Registration is now open for students entering grades 2-12, who can learn from Unity’s professional teaching artists and performers and unlock their creativity and imaginations.

The “Creative Dramatics” camp is open to students coming into the second or third grade, running July 8-12 and concluding with a showcase performance on Saturday, July 13th.

Two camps are available for kids in grades 4-6.  The first is “Playbuilding”, which will take place between July 8-12 and culminate in a showcase on July 13th.

The second option is “Acting in Performance, Jr.”, a two-week camp from July 15-28.  Participants will be cast as supporting characters in the summer musical production of “Treasure Island”.  Registration covers four complimentary tickets to a performance on Unity’s Main Stage from July 25-28.

Students in grades 7-12 can attend “Acting in Performance: Showcase” between July 8-19.  The two-week camp will have students audition for, be cast in and rehearse a black box production of “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane”, which will feature performances on July 19th and 20th

Cost for the camps is $180 for “Creative Dramatics” and “Playbuilding”, $275 for “Acting in Performance, Jr.” and $375 for “Acting in Performance: Showcase”.  Space is limited and scholarships are available.

Registration for the summer camps can now be done online at www.unitybrenham.org.  Families can still choose to print out registration forms from the website and submit them to Unity Theatre, 300 Church Street in Brenham, either in person or by mail.
