BUCCANEER WOMEN BEAT ANGELINA TO ADVANCE TO FINALS

The Blinn Buccaneer Women's Basketball Team is heading for another showdown with the Trinity Valley Lady Cardinals after they defeated Angelina 75-70 in overtime on Friday.

Blinn led the game 31-24 at halftime. However, Angelina outscored the Bucs 25-18 in the third quarter to tie the game at 49-49. Both teams scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to send it into overtime with a 64-64 tie.

Blinn would then outscored the Roadrunners 11-6 in the overtime period to win it.

Wynter Jones came off the bench to lead the Bucs with 17 points. Jonesha Neal added 16 points.

Tocarra Johnson had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Chelsy Singleton added 10 points.

Blinn will face Trinity Valley for the Region XIV Tournament Championship today (Saturday) at 4pm.

The Bucs are trying to win the tournament for the second time in the last three seasons, and clinch a third straight trip to the National Championship Tournament.
