FOUR CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department had four calls on Wednesday.
At 12:45 p.m., the department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 2200 block of Esplanade Court. Firefighters arrived and met the homeowner outside their two-story house, which had smoke throughout due to a pot that was left on the stove. The department used a pressure fan to remove the smoke, and once it cleared, units returned to service.
Just before 2 p.m., firefighters received a report of a gas odor in the 2000 block of Geney Street. The fire department and City of Brenham Gas Department checked the area for a leak or smell, and after investigation, gas crews released the fire department from the scene.
Shortly before 2:45 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a crash in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South. They found a two-vehicle accident and proceeded to provide traffic control and remove debris from the roadway. Once the vehicles were removed, units returned to the station.
Approaching 9:30 p.m., the department was called out to the 3800 block of FM 2935 for a fire investigation. Upon arrival, units found a small brush fire in a pasture. They advised dispatch of what they had found before clearing the scene.
