COLLEGE STATION SHUTS OUT CUBETTES 3-0

The Brenham Cubette Softball Team fell to the College Station Lady Cougars 3-0 last (Tuesday) night.

Halle Scheel (Mark Whitehead)

The good news is that Cubettes were able to snap College Station's streak of five straight games where they scored at least 11 or more runs. The bad news is that they finished up the first half of district play with a 2-5 record.

Halle Scheel led off the game with a single for the Cubettes. That would turn out to be Brenham's only hit of the game.

College Station's Gracie Ream went seven shutout innings allowing only one hit, walking two, and striking out 14 batters.

The Lady Cougars got all three of their runs in the bottom of the third. Chloe Ream had an RBI single. Then, Gracie Ream helped herself at the plate with a two run homer.

Kylie Baker took the tough luck loss in the circle. She went six innings, six hits, three runs, two of which were earned, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Next up, the Cubettes will start the second half of district play as they face Magnolia on Thursday night at 7pm at Alumni Field.
