ACCUSED SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON

An accused sex offender was sentenced to 30 years in prison during the latest session of the Grimes County District Court.
29-year-old Jose Mota-Tupul pled guilty to a charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child on Wednesday before 506th District Court Judge Gary Chaney.
In May of last year, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Van Snook began investigating a report of child sexual abuse that was received through Child Protective Services.
An 11-year-old female said that Mota-Tupul sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions at a residence in Plantersville.
Texas DPS Special Agent Victor Bible interviewed Mota-Tupul about the accusations in July.
After initially denying the charges, Mota-Tupul later confessed that the assaults occurred on eight separate occasions.
The D.A.’s office said that he wrote the victim an apology letter.
With the conviction, Mota-Tupul will not be eligible for early release through parole.
When he is released, he will have to register for the rest of his life as a sex offender. The victim was in the courtroom and listened to the plea and the sentencing.
