A&M CONSOLIDATED GETS PAST CUBETTES 3-2
The last time these two teams met, the A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers defeated the Brenham Cubettes 12-1. This time, the Cubettes kept the game much closer, but the Lady Tigers still came out with a 3-2 win.
Brenham got on the board with a run in the top of the second inning. Annie Beckendorf was hit by a pitch, and Avery Maurer singled. Kaylie Rodriguez laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners up. Beckendorf then scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by McKenzie Tiemann to give Brenham a 1-0 lead.
A&M Consolidated would tie it up a run in the bottom of the second to make it 1-1. The Lady Tigers later broke the tie with a run in the bottom of the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. They added an additional run in the fifth to make it 3-1.
Brenham cut into the lead in the top of the sixth. Kaylie Rodriguez singled, and then later scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-2. That would be as close as they could get.
Heidi Busker took the loss despite pitching well in the first four innings. Kylie Baker went the last two.
