BURTON PANTHERS CRUSH SNOOK 15-2

The Burton Panthers continued their winning ways as they crushed Snook 15-2 at Panther Field tonight (Friday).

Burton jumped out in front with seven runs in the first inning. Tyler Witt drew a leadoff walk. Logun Tosta followed with a single, and then on an error, was able to take second, while Witt came around to score the first run of the game. Braydon Martin singled, and on another error, Tosta scored to make it 2-0 Panthers. Colby Beck doubled home Martin to put Burton ahead 3-0. After a Bryson Biggs single, and another Bluejay error, Beck scored. Ruben Rodriguez drew a walk. Ryder Biggs followed with a two-run double that drove in older brother Bryson and Rodriguez to increase the lead to 6-0. Ryder later scored on another Snook error to make it 7-0 Panthers.

Snook came back with two runs in the top of the second to cut the deficit to 7-2. That would be as close as they would get.

Burton added seven more runs in the bottom of the second. Martin led off with a walk. Beck struck out, but reached on a wild pitch. Weston Els came in to run for Martin. Bryson Biggs singled to load the bases. Rodriguez reached on an infield single that scored Els. Then on an error, Bryson scored to get the Panther lead up to 9-2. Ryder Biggs doubled home Bryson and Rodriguez to bring the score to 11-2. He then scored on a wild pitch. Eli Jaeger walked. Eli Simank was brought in to run, stole second, stole third, and scored on and error to make it 13-2. Witt singled, and then scored later in the inning on an RBI single by Beck to make it 14-2 Burton.

Burton added one more run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Tosta that scored Houston Hodde to put the Panthers up 15-2.

Eli Jaeger got the win going all four innings, allowing four hits, two runs, only one was earned, no walks, and six strikeouts.

Next up, Burton will host Somerville on Tuesday night at 6:30pm.
