THREE MINOR CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department had a relatively light day on Wednesday, responding to three calls.
Shortly after 1:15 p.m., the department responded to a crash by the Fireman’s Training Center, 1101 Highway 290 West. Units made location to find a one-vehicle accident. They checked for fluids, but no mitigation was needed. The department then waited for Brenham police to arrive before clearing the scene.
At 3:15 p.m., firefighters were dispatched for a fire alarm in the 1000 block of South Day Street. While enroute, proper code for cancellation was given by the alarm company.
At 3:30 p.m., BFD members were called out to a possible structure fire in the 3400 block of Old Gay Hill Road. While responding, they were cancelled by a Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department member who arrived first and discovered it was a controlled burn.
