BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO CALL AT SHERIFF’S OFFICE

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to a call at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.

Just before 5:30 a.m., the department received a report of a structure fire at the sheriff’s office, 1206 Old Independence Road. 

When units arrived, they found nothing showing from the exterior of the building.  Firefighters then entered the laundry area, and although there was no smoke or fire, they found a motor on the dryer was hot.

BFD members advised employees at the sheriff’s office to have a repairman come out and check the dryers before using them again.  Units then returned to service.
