TWO ACCIDENT CALLS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to a pair of accident calls Tuesday morning.

At 6:15 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a crash on Highway 36 North at North Park Street.  Units arrived to find a two-vehicle accident on the shoulder of the highway.  They checked both vehicles and provided traffic control at the scene.

Just before 7:30 a.m., the department was called out for mutual aid with the Burton Volunteer Fire Department for a crash with entrapment in the 14900 block of Highway 290 West.  Upon making location, they found a tractor-trailer rollover with heavy damage to the tractor.  Brenham firefighters helped with fluids leaking and were released by Burton units once the leaks were secured.  The extent of any injuries is currently unknown.

The Brenham Fire Department also responded to a fire alarm at 4:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Brenham High School, 525 A H Ehrig Drive.  The alarm was sounding when BFD members arrived, but they discovered it was going off due to a malfunction.
