FIVE ARRESTED FOR DRUG, MARIJUANA POSSESSION
Five people were arrested by Brenham police over the weekend on drug and marijuana possession charges.
Shortly before 11:45 a.m. Friday, Officer Nicolas Conforti conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of North Park Street. Marijuana was located in the vehicle during a search. The driver, 48-year-old Kevin Lloyd Herring of Brenham, was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana Less than 2oz. and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Just past 1 a.m. Saturday, Officer Lauren Vieceli made a traffic stop for a vehicle violation in the 2100 block of Highway 290 West. After a probable cause search of the vehicle, the front seat passenger, 32-year-old Kristen June Moore of Cypress was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less than a Gram, and placed into custody.
Around 8 p.m. Saturday, Officer Vieceli stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of Highway 290 West. Upon a probable cause search of the vehicle, marijuana was located. The driver, 36-year-old Stephen Leandra Adamson of Austin, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked for Possession of Marijuana Less than 2oz. and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
Approaching 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Officer Vieceli made another traffic stop in the 2700 block of Highway 290 West. Following a probable cause search of the vehicle, police took the driver, 30-year-old Logan Christopher Samford of Fort Worth, into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams. Samford was transported to the Washington County Jail.
At 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Officer Conforti stopped a vehicle in the 2800 block of Highway 290 West. Investigation led to the driver, 38-year-old Whitney Azikwe Hamilton of Austin, being placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams. Hamilton was taken to the Washington County Jail.
It’s hard to believe that all these people that were charged are adults in their 30s and 40s. The courts should make them go to some type of drug rehab with probation tied in
