BLINN BASEBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GATHERING PLANNED FOR MONDAY

Everyone in the community is invited to put on their blue and white, and come out to welcome home the NJCAA National Baseball Champion Blinn Buccaneers.

A gathering will be held on Monday night at Leroy Dreyer Field on the Blinn College Brenham Campus. According to Susan Myers with the Blinn College Foundation, the bus with the players and coaches is expected to return to the field around 5pm.

Coaches and players have been invited to give remarks about their championship season.

The Buccaneers defeated Northwest Florida State 12-5 on Saturday night to win the first baseball National Championship in school history.

This was the ninth time that Blinn has made it to the World Series, and it is the first back to back appearances since they went four years in a row from 1962-1965.

In just two seasons at the helm, Blinn Head Coach Dusty Hart is 93-32.
