JUNETEENTH ACTIVITIES COMING TO BRENHAM

  

The Washington County Juneteenth Association is getting ready for their annual celebration with multiple events scheduled over the next two weekends.

This Saturday, they will be holding the coronation ceremony for the Juneteenth Royalty. The ceremony is scheduled for 5pm in the New Life Church of God Gymnasium located at 1990 FM 389.

Then, on Friday, June 14, the annual Jubilee Kickoff is going to be held at Fireman’s Park in Brenham from 6-10pm.

The theme is “Coolin’ in the Park” featuring music from Keyun and the Zydeco Masters.

Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, tents, and coolers. They will be selling sausage wraps, chips, and a drink for $7. Admission is free of charge.

That will be followed on Saturday, June 15, with the Juneteenth Parade through Downtown Brenham at 10:30am.

KWHI is going to broadcast the parade live on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.

After the parade, the annual Jubilee will follow at Fireman’s Park. The public is invited to attend.
